Richard William Charlton 1909-1987
Richard William trained as a Gardener and between 1927 to 1948 lived a roving existence working as a jobbing gardener in the far north of England. Following on from his National Service, he worked at Wentworth Woodhouse where he met and married Mavis Woodcock. Richard William and Mavis lived all of their married life in Rotherham, South Yorkshire and produced only one son, John Richard Charlton, the author of this website.
